The Sullivan County Arrest Log
SCSO publishes no 72-hour, seven-day, or weekly booking table with a stated date range. The sheriff's roster tracks who is in custody now. Its newsroom carries selected investigations and arrest announcements. Someone released yesterday can already be off the roster even though the booking file and the court case live on. The 24 Hour Arrests page covers a fresh event, while this multi-day view follows agency posts, delayed reports, and older records.
Kingsport comes closest to a recurring official blotter. The KPD Daily Media Reports archive posts on successive weekdays, with morning publication times in its metadata. The post bodies, however, ask for a password in the public view. So the archive proves a dated report exists. It cannot promise anything about the fields, photographs, incident window, or completeness inside each locked report.
A publication date is not the booking date. Always keep the source's own date label when you compare arrest reports.
Read Sullivan County Arrest Reports
Start with official sources. Work outward from there, keeping each channel's job separate. A multi-day result earns trust only when the agency, event date, publication date, custody state, and court outcome all line up.
- Check the KPD Daily Media Reports archive for a Kingsport date and note whether the public post body can be opened.
- Search the KPD Police Blog and SCSO newsroom for a selected narrative announcement.
- Check the SCSO roster only for present county custody, not as proof of every arrest during the period.
- For Bristol, ask the Police Records Division about the routine press log or a named report.
- Request the booking record from SCSO when a released entry is no longer on the roster.
- Use the Sullivan court portal to verify the filed charge and disposition.
The county recent-arrests hub walks through the full roster and records-request process. Never merge a newsroom headline, a private-site timestamp, and a current roster card into one invented booking date. Each describes a different step in the process.
Sullivan Arrest Log Entry Fields
No single official log schema governs Sullivan County. The table below marks what each source actually provides, rather than an idealized field list pretend-applied everywhere.
| Source | Verified fields or function | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| SCSO roster | Name, photo, charge-detail control, VINE control | Current custody, no date-window filter |
| KPD Daily Reports | Dated archive posts and morning metadata | Post bodies password protected |
| KPD Police Blog | Selected narratives and arrest releases | Not a complete blotter |
| SCSO newsroom | Selected agency narratives and images | Not every booking |
| Bristol Records | Incident, offense, accident, and inspectable press-log records | No public searchable arrest roster found |
| Court portal | Party, case, charge, hearing, disposition where available | Not a custody locator |
Private booking pages often list a name, age, timestamp, physical details, charges, bond, and a photo. Treat those labels as publisher copies. They can truncate a charge, keep a stale photo, or stamp an arrest date that is not the Sullivan County Jail intake date. Confirm any lead with the responsible agency.
Kingsport Arrest Archive Access
The KPD archive is a real enforcement publication channel, which beats any unsourced private list. Its access limit matters just as much. The index shows dated weekday entries in the open. The report contents themselves request a password. So the public index documents cadence and existence, not the names, charges, photos, or event range locked inside each report.
The official KPD archive index appears here:

The screenshot shows the archive layout. It shows the access restriction too, without claiming entry to any protected report body.
KPD's Police Blog is easier to read and covers selected investigations. It runs on events, not a schedule. One announced arrest says nothing about the day's total. A silent blog does not mean KPD made no arrests.
Weekend Sullivan County Arrest Reports
The KPD archive posts on weekdays. Nothing establishes that a Monday entry holds every weekend arrest. SCSO states no weekend or holiday publication schedule anywhere. A Monday news post, a Sunday booking, and a later court filing can each carry a different date. Keep them separate.
For a weekend arrest search, check the SCSO current roster first. That roster answers when county custody is the question. Call Kingsport City Jail at 423-229-9435 if a KPD arrest might still sit in that short-term facility. Contact Bristol Police when the transfer to county jail is unclear. Then revisit the official news archives the next business day. File a focused records request if no public report ever surfaces.
Office hours do not predict jail intake or roster refreshes. Verify a weekend gap instead of filling it with an assumption.
Sullivan Arrest News Sources
The SCSO newsroom and KPD Police Blog tell first-party stories. The Times News crime section is the strongest local newspaper channel, while the Bristol Herald Courier covers Bristol-area investigations. WJHL adds regional Tri-Cities coverage plus a Crime Watch newsletter. None of them is a booking log. Photos appear only with selected stories.

Commercial mugshot sites are a different animal from county record offices. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and Mugshots.zone all carry Sullivan County arrest content. None of them is an official county publication, though. Treat them as rolling or historical copies of booking data. RecentlyBooked's stated refresh rate and posting window come from the publisher itself. That schedule is not from any Sullivan County agency. Mugshots.com leans selective and older. Arrests.org simply offers no Sullivan County page, so no local URL exists for it.
Sullivan Arrest Archives and Retention
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office roster keeps no public archive view. Once someone is released, the online entry can disappear. The file itself still exists behind the counter. Tennessee's retention guidance points to five-year booking logs and inmate census records. It also names permanent inmate registers, jail shift reports, and long-lived identification files. Model schedules like these cannot confirm the status of any single SCSO record. Ask the Public Records Request Coordinator which series covers your case.
Direct your request to Lieutenant Chris Farmer, the coordinator named in county policy. His office sits at 140 Blountville Bypass, Blountville, TN 37617. You can also call 423-279-7500 extension 294. Give the full name, the approximate arrest or booking date, and the arresting agency. Add a booking number if you have one. Ask for an existing booking record. Staff cannot build a custom multi-day arrest log for you.
Older files sometimes leave the Sheriff's hands entirely. The Sullivan County Circuit Court Clerk holds the case record and its outcome. Transferred government records sit with Sullivan County Archives. A permanent register may still list an old arrest fact without any booking photo. Private arrest pages can linger online after the official record changes.
